February 7, 2021 marked the 20 year anniversary of Centennial’s incorporation. At approximately 12:15 p.m. the first elected officials took their oath of office legally establishing Centennial as a Colorado City.
Throughout this year, citizens can expect a variety of programs and events to celebrate 20 years of Centennial. The City looks forward to highlighting Centennial’s history and accomplishments while recognizing the importance of residents, businesses and neighborhoods. Centennial three Mayor’s share their favorite projects and hopes for the future in this video.
Additionally, the City wants to recognize the people whose contributions helped to make Centennial a great place the last 20 years. “I love being a part of this City. I am proud, grateful and very appreciative of the passionate residents who worked tirelessly on making the dream of Centennial a reality,” says Centennial Mayor Stephanie Piko. “The City was founded with the intention of limited government and fiscal responsibility. I am happy to say our contract model of government has proven to work well throughout the years and Centennial remains debt free. We have so many things to be proud of and with COVID continuing to be top of mind for many, I think looking back at how far we’ve come as a City and the many things we have to look forward to is just what we need - moments of pride. I look forward to celebrating our City with all of you throughout the year.”
